I offer you an original Feldpost letter written by a German Staff Sergeant to his wife. According to my other letters from this Sergeant, I know that before he came to Italy, this Staff Sergeant was with the Army patrol of the Africa Corps of the Africa Panzer group under the Command of Karl Bülowius. After Rommel's defeat, parts of the Afrika Korps were incorporated into the 55th Italian Division "Savona"
When he wrote this offered letter, the Sergeant was with the field Police troop 631 in Italy

My dearest little wife  !
Today I returned from my trip and received your two letters, number 11 and 12. Thank you very much for that ! With you there is something new every few days. Unfortunately, I hardly get to write you a detailed letter. Since Monday I was on the road through the beautiful Italian mountains. Today I am only half a day here in the location and tomorrow morning at 6.00 it goes already again. Actually I have a beautiful post here. In the last days I came close to the front and it was very interesting. For you it is not important what I do here. Tomorrow morning I will arrive in the Italian capital. Gradually I get to know Italy in depth. When I return tomorrow evening, I want to get a few packages ready for shipping. They are mostly things for me. The post office costs me nothing and partly also the content costs nothing. For this price you can send these things home. If I can buy a little something for you, then I will do it, as far as the money is enough. For these trips you always need money, because you can imagine how it is when you have to eat in hotels. The fact that Marte is visiting you is a sign that Alois also liked it with you. In the future we can receive them all in our apartment. I am happy about your idea of an apartment, but it would be nice if we could get the furniture soon.
