VERY RARE and important letter from a Feldwebel in a heavy Nebelwerfer battalion to another soldier friend, dated January, 1944.  He apparently typed this on a scrap piece of paper he found as there's an upside down list of things scratched through on the back!  He describes his hospital stay, but more interestingly, how they were advancing well into Russia until Stalingrad fell, then he describes in good detail their retreat, running out of gasoline and destroying their Nebelwerfer rockets to keep them from being captured, and then another fight with the Russians retreating across the Crimea, where he was wounded twice, shot in the shoulder and hit by shrapnel.
This is an exceptionally detailed letter from an extremely hard-to-find unit!  Nebelwerfer units were few and far between in the German Army, so finding one from any unit is rare, let alone one from a Sergeant who goes into great detail describing their movements, actions, and his own wounds to another soldier.  This is a rare one!
